Brazilian composer Felipe Lara was named the winner of the inaugural Kanter/Mivos String Quartet Composition Competition, which serves as the impetus of this performance by the Mivos Quartet at this multicultural chamber music series. In addition to Lara's Corde Vocale, the ensemble will play music by Marcos Balter, Stephanie Huguenin, Carl Kanter, György Kurtág and Wolfgang Rihm.
