Without question one of the most charismatic singers and perceptive lyricists to emerge in reggae during the late 1970s, Mykal Rose fronted the definitive version of seminal combo Black Uhuru, then departed for a solo career just as the group was achieving breakthrough velocity. While his latest solo work makes us wish Auto-Tune had never been invented, we've still got to give it up to an enduring original.
