Neil Halstead + Common Prayer + Jim Hanft with Samantha Yonack

While in British outfit Slowdive, Neil Halstead helped define the ever-elusive shoegaze genre; following that band's demise, he joined other former Slowdivers in Mojave 3, a less-heralded—if longer-lasting—group that plays straight-up country-tinged indie rock. Halstead's latest solo disc is Palindrome Hunches, so expect to hear the folky new material tonight. Also on the bill is Common Prayer, which mixes dreamy, lush orchestra pop with ramshackle folk jangling to genuinely charming effect.
