Austrian conductor Manfred Honeck greets the New Year and the Phil audience with a rarity, Walter Braunfels's Suite from Fantastic Apparitions of a Theme by Hector Berlioz—based not on Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique, but rather on his "Song of the Flea." Grieg's Piano Concerto (with soloist Jean-Yves Thibaudet) and Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 complete the bill.
