Soloists from the Philharmonic step into the spotlight for a wide-ranging program. Sheryl Staples, Michelle Kim, Marc Ginsberg and Lisa Kim are featured in Vivaldi's Concerto for Four Violins; trumpeter Philip Smith blows his horn in Aaron Jay Kernis's a Voice, a Messenger (a world premiere); Philip Myers is featured in Hindemith's Horn Concerto; and Liang Wang steps up for Christopher Rouse's Oboe Concerto. Ravel's Boléro ends the evening.
