Lorin Maazel returns to New York to wrangle 150 players (and a full offstage horn section) in Richard Strauss's panoramic tone poem An Alpine Symphony. The orchestra's principal French-horn player, Philip Myers, then takes center stage for Strauss's majestic First Horn Concerto, before the orchestra concludes the all-Strauss fiesta with Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks.
