L.A. singer-songwriter Nicole Simone may come across as self-consciously noirish, singing creepy little tunes in a feline whisper—but they're good songs and she's convincingly kittenish (check out her debut EP, Melt, for evidence). Ben Carroll provides mellow, easygoing support (phew!).
