Newly signed to Dead Oceans, Night Beds is centered around beatifically voiced singer Winston Yellen, and specializes in exquisitely pretty, dark, luscious songs—which you can hear on debut album Country Sleep. He plays two shows this week; openers at Glasslands June 30 are sunny-voiced L.A. native Jenny O., plus James Friley's excellent Idiot Glee, which draws as much on romantic 1950s R&B and doo-wop as it does on woozy, My Morning Jacket–toned Southern-rock stylings. Jenny O. sticks around for the July 1 Maxwell's show.
