Nikka Costa was 2001’s can’t-miss star; then, she missed. Her most recent disc, last year's PRO*WHOA!, takes a beat-centered approach, leaving behind the soul-funk heard on 2008's Pebble to a Pearl and delving into the realms of pop and electronica. That departure, along with the fact that the lady is a firecracker onstage, should make for a very danceable evening indeed.
