Lovers of vintage garage and rockabilly, rejoice! Local record label Norton Records has its warehouse in Red Hook, and celebrates its surviving Hurricane Sandy a year ago with two blowout Brooklyn shows. The first is at Warsaw and features power-pop pioneers the Flamin' Groovies, best known for their hit "Shake Some Action" (yes, we love Clueless, too), plus a rare area performance by mighty ’60s garage-punk progenitors the Sonics. Saturday's gig has North Carolina's Greg Cartwright, bringing his soul-inspired Reigning Sound to the Brooklyn Bowl, with super support coming from LaLa Brooks—a member of Phil Spector's Crystals when, at 15, she sang lead on "Da Doo Ron Ron" and "Then He Kissed Me." Stick around after the show for the Soul Clap and Dance-Off, featuring spiffily dressed retro soul DJ Jonathan Toubin.
