This fascinating three-night fest explores various manifestations of the avant-garde without the slightest concern for genre congruity. Night one (Thu 14) features sumptuous classical piano virtuoso Lubomyr Melnyk, noise-loving sax diehard Tamio Shiraishi and the postpsych-improv experts Flower-Corsano Duo. Night two (Fri 15) includes minimalist composers Tony Conrad and Charlemagne Palestine as well as avant-blues visionary Bill Orcutt, formerly of Harry Pussy. Things get more conceptual on the final night (Sat 16), with an appearance from performance artist Michael Smith. Visit for the full story.
