The burgeoning global fame of prolific Syrian singer Omar Souleyman has been fueled by several Sublime Frequencies albums, a hit YouTube video and a potent endorsement from Björk on NPR. His manic electronic take on the Syrian style called dabke is custom-made for manic dancing at weddings, but translates to Western dance floors just fine. Sharing the bill is coed trio Prince Rama, which specializes in droning, tribal-inflected trance-outs.
