Opera Moderne

Founder Rebecca Greenstein refers to her new endeavor, Opera Moderne, as a boutique opera company, and indeed, the inaugural event at the always romantic Galapagos hints at luxurious things to come. Four young singers perform Benjamin Britten's powerful final vocal work, Phaedra; Libby Larsen's haunting Songs from Letters, based on Calamity Jane's letters to her daughter; and George Crumb's otherworldly song cycle Ancient Voices of Children.
