Vaughan Williams's powerful anti-war piece Dona Nobis Pacem, which sets texts of Walt Whitman overlayed with the famous Latin mantra of the title, is the centerpiece of this joint concert. Also on the program are Vaughan Williams's work for harp and strings Five Variants of Dives and Lazarus, Gerald Finzi's Fear no more the heat o' the sun, with baritone soloist Jesse Blumberg, and Tomás Luis de Victoria's masterful a cappella Requiem of 1605.
