Orchestre Septentrional d'Haiti

Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night Swing fest continues, with Haiti's oldest big band: Orchestre Septentrional d'Haiti has been running for 62 years. Expect to hear a good deal of Haitian compas music (which touches on voudou, merengue and Cuban motifs) thrown in the mix. The admission price includes a free dance class at 6:30pm, which today highlights the Konpa.
