Local crew Outernational has strong ties to both Rage Against the Machine and the Red Hot Chili Peppers—Tom Morello produced the band's 2012 EP, Future Rock, and RHCP's Chad Smith lent his drumming prowess to a couple of tracks—so it's no shocker that the group specializes in funky, protest-minded alt rock, with a dash of ’90s-style ska-punk.
