Born in 1942 to a musical family in Rio de Janeiro, Brazilian singer and strummer Paulinho da Viola has earned his status as one of his nation's greatest sambistas. Making his Carnegie Hall debut as part of the Voices from Latin America series, he presents traditional sambas and choros with an eight-piece backing band that'll have your hips swiveling.
