Now the group hits New York on a Stereogum-sponsored tour featuring a pair of young-gun successors, Jeff the Brotherhood and Valient Thorr. Last Rites, Pentagram's new album, pulls from the same bottomless well that singer Bobby Liebling’s been tapping since the early ’70s: lumbering tempos, fuzzy power chords and words that swirl heavy-metal accusation with a dreamy vulnerability.
