The adventurous artist-musicians of the newly formed collective Varispeed bring Robert Ashley's deliciously weird seven-episode "television opera" to the streets of Manhattan. Find out how our narrator, R, and his buddy Buddy (the greatest piano player in the world) get caught up in a bank robbery in this 12-hour, site-specific performance that travels to venues around the East Village, Lower East Side and Soho including Washington Square Park, the Essex Street Market and Tom & Jerry's. The show gets started at Washington Square, but you can join in at any time. The complete itinerary is found at thingny.com.
