As one fourth of the band Mostly Other People Do Killing, this trumpeter recently engaged in some choice jazz-historical mindfuckery, rerecording Miles Davis's Kind of Blue note-for-note. Here, he turns his attention to more futuristic pursuits, previewing music from Destination: Void, an upcoming album featuring his fierce, exacting compositions for electroacoustic quintet. Improv legends Evan Parker and Joe McPhee sit in on Sept 26 and 27, respectively.
