Phil Gibbs

British guitarist Phil Gibbs, a staunch free-improviser whose barbed yet jazzy explorations might remind you of his late forebear Derek Bailey, plays his first-ever NYC shows this week: a mini tour spanning six nights and two boroughs. The performances feature various collaborators, most prominently vocalist Mossa Bildner, who appears at all six. (At the Oct 28 show, Bildner interprets the verse of Dylan Thomas.)
