Norah Jones does as she pleases these days. Last fall, that meant teaming up with Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong for an Everly Brothers tribute. This year, it means stepping out with two pals—like-minded local jazz-folk-pop songsmith Sasha Dobson and seasoned bassist-vocalist Catherine Popper, who has worked with Jack White, Ryan Adams and Grace Potter—in the trio Puss n Boots. The group's recent Blue Note debut, No Fools, No Fun, is an earthy country-meets-rock treat that features potent covers (Neil Young, Wilco, the Band) and originals by all three members. Here, the group plays its third annual Christmas Extravaganza, with guests such as former pro wrestler Mick Foley as Santa. (Yep, you read that right.)
