Remedy: Patrice Scott

We can’t figure out what it is about Detroit that enables its house and techno producers to make such spine-tingling emotive beats while using more or less the same tools as everyone else. Is there something in the water? Is it the city’s dystopian vibe? Whatever the case, Patrice Scott is one of the best of the second wave of house and techno types who have come out of the Motor City, and tonight the Sistrum label head is playing in the intimate confines of Cameo alongside Remedy's Jen Orlando.
