George Rothman conducts this Quantum Leap–esque program that jumps from the Renaissance to the early 20th century to the present day before plummeting back to the Baroque for Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 5. Highlights include a performance of Vivaldi's Concerto in D for Lute by Mexican lute phenom Dieter Hennings, the New York premiere of Ricardo Zohn-Muldoon's Pluck.Pound.Peel., and Britten's eerie and pensive Lachrymae (Riverside's principal violist Sarah Adams as soloist), performed alongside the Renaissance song that inspired Dowland's Flow My Tears.
