While Robert Ashley is known mostly for his radical reimagining of the operatic form, he has also written a number of stunning smaller works that take centerstage at the Incubator Arts Projects five-day mini-festival. Some of Ashley's long-time collaborators like Thomas Buckner and Tom Hamilton are joined by younger Ashley enthusiasts from the Flux Quartet and Dither, among others, for a pair of programs featuring chamber music written over the course of 50 years. On Nov 4 and 5, Object Collection performs an updated live version of Ashley's tape-music masterpiece Automatic Writing. Visit incubatorarts.org for the program details.
