Tatsuya Yoshida, a Japanese drummer who's been combing prog aesthetics with punk spirit since the mid-’80s, turns up in the ’Burg with the solo version of his long-running Ruins project, in which he employs backing tracks to simulate an avant-rock orchestra on the order of Magma. Rounding out this killer bill are masterful instrumental tech-metal trio Behold… the Arctopus (sounding as good as ever after a recent reemergence), off-the-wall avant-grinders Child Abuse and punk-fusion stalwarts PAK.
