Shobaleader One + Daedelus

With releases such as Feed Me Weird Things and Hard Normal Daddy, from ’96 and ’97, respectively, U.K. producer Tom Jenkinson (a.k.a. Squarepusher) helped humanize the drum ’n’ bass genre, creating electronic music that breathed like primo jazz fusion. With Shobaleader One, Jenkinson fronts a quartet for live, grooving takes on the compositions. In the opening set, dapper Alfred "Daedelus" Darlington purveys dreamy electronics galore, exploring hip-hop, glitch, off-kilter pop and electronic psychedelia in equal measure.
