On the Way Out, a regular avant-jazz showcase as Freddy's, welcomes two promising trios: Star Systems, with guitarist Anders Nilsson, bassist Stuart Popejoy and drummer Vinnie Sperrazza; and the Gate, with tuba player Dan Peck, bassist Tom Blancarte and drummer Brian Osborne.
