Mississippi-bred roots-pop veteran Steve Forbert became a Manhattan fixture around the same time the Ramones did, and scored a 1980 hit with "Romeo's Tune," and he continues to mix cockeyed whimsy with gangly compassion, as on his new album, Over with You. Tonight he celebrates the 35th anniversary of his Alive on Arrival debut album, which he'll play in full.
