Now that the masses have relished its every suspended moment and vulnerable sigh, you can bet that vocalist Susanna Karolina Wallumrød’s deliberate, radically down-tempo version of “Love Will Tear Us Apart” has dethroned Nouvelle Vague’s as the Foursquare mayor of breakup mixtapes. With her jukebox of ethereal, minimalist cover songs (“Jolene,” “Hallelujah”), Wallumrød and her “orchestra” (ex–Jaga Jazzist keyboardist Morten Qvenild) have hit the States for a short tour, with a recent album, 3 (Rune Grammofon), to tap for heartache-curing catharsis. Sharing the bill is Elk City, a local combo with great taste and a hot new guitarist: Sean Eden, formerly of Luna.
