Tamika Lawrence

Tamika Lawrence is a major talent who can sing the rafters off any house she's in but can also shake a room with sheer personality, as she proved in memorable recent turns in Broadway's Caroline, or Change and The Heart of Rock and Roll. In this rock-oriented solo show at Joe's Pub, she performs original songs from her past albums and her upcoming mixtape, Barely In The Calm House Vol. 1., interspersed with short films she has created in the off-kilter retro-indie mode of John Waters and Doris Wishman. DJ Motha (Melodie Ray) gets the preshow hopping.
