Think of this as a promising new trio for the rhapsodic pianist Geri Allen, or view it as the axis of drummer Terri Lyne Carrington's Mosaic Project sprung loose to fly freely—or perhaps a chance for bass phenom Esperanza Spalding to commune with two key forebears. However you frame it, don't miss this outing by three exemplary jazz musicians, each an estimable leader.
