The 5th Annual BJU Festival

Kings County musicians collective the Brooklyn Jazz Underground hosts its 2011 showcase, a great opportunity to check out the way BJU artists present challenging ideas in accessible frameworks. The Sat 2 program features bands led by reedist Adam Kolker (11pm), bassist Anne Mette Iversen (9:45pm) and drummer Rob Garcia (8:30), while the Sun 3 bill spotlights a quintet co-led by bassist Alexis Cuadrado, saxist Dan Pratt and trumpeter Dave Smith.
