David Johansen has worn many hats: He became a punk legend singing in the New York Dolls in the ’70s, conceived pop persona Buster Poindexter in the ’80s, attracted a cult singing folk songs as David Johansen and the Harry Smiths, and in recent years presided over a surprisingly legit Dolls reunion. Tonight he performs under his own name, so expect to hear work from across the board.
