The Death of Don Juan

Since Elodie Lauten released a self-produced recording of her minimalist opera in 1985, this ethereal meditation on the classic tale has developed something of a cult following. More than 25 years later, directors Robert Lawson and Henry Akona are staging the opera's New York premiere. Douglas McDonnell sings the role of the famous lover while Lauten herself performs as the electronic orchestra.
