This electrifying young string orchestra wraps up a two-day residency at WQXR with a performance of John Adams's "Christian Zeal and Activity," the middle movement of his 1973 work American Standard, featuring sound samples submitted by listeners as part of the ensemble's Found Sound Project. The group will also perform Copland’s Appalachian Spring, selections from Peruvian composer Gabriela Lena Frank’s Leyendas: An Andean Walkabout and Debussy’s orchestral arrangement of Satie’s Gymnopédie. The group's new album, A Second of Silence, drops on Tue 3.
