Matt Marks's self-described "post-Christian nihilist pop-opera" sets the love story of two fundamentalist evangelists to an addictive score blending ’70s gospel, electropop and hip-hop. If it's half as addictive as the recording on New Amsterdam Records, we expect the obsessively intricate work to be a highlight of the summer.
