The Mark Murphy/Vinny Valentino Duo

Time may have mellowed onetime firebrand Mark Murphy, but it has not robbed the vocal bop progenitor of any of his instincts or insight. Recent encounters with Jon Hendricks, Kevin Mahogany and Kurt Ellin—much of whose style was built on Murphy's foundation—have left him in fighting trim. Tonight he is joined by guitarist Vinny Valentino.
