The Mynabirds + Port St. Willow

Laura Burhenn voices her political frustrations with a delicious pop veneer on Generals, her second album fronting Omaha collective the Mynabirds. The songstress considers how to achieve social and economic justice in a peaceful way over self-assured claps and big pop hooks that could drive any apathetic listener to act—or dance, at least. Support comes from the falsetto-voiced Nick Principe, a buddy of the Antlers who performs as Port St. Willow.
