The Peony Pavilion

In one of its more ambitious performing-arts ventures, the Met Museum mounts a new arrangement of this traditional 16th-century Chinese Kunqu opera, developed and directed by Tan Dun with choreography by Huang Doudou. Staged in the intimate Astor Court, the five-performance run has sold out, but on Nov 30 you can watch a live video simulcast in the museum's cozy auditorium.
