The Vienna Rite

Judith Berkson's new chamber opera tells the story of Franz Schubert and Viennese cantor Salomon Sulzer's 1828 attempt to compose a new religious service that would merge synagogue chant with European music. The opera will be performed by Yarn/Wire and a cast of talented guest vocalists.
