Led by ace songwriter John Samson (formerly of Propagandhi), Winnipeg's the Weakerthans carry on Neil Young's legacy of topical, quietly devastating Canadian roots rock. This week the band settles in for a four-night Bowery residency, where it performs a different album each night: Fallow (Wednesday), Left and Leaving (Thursday), Reconstruction Site (Friday) and Reunion Tour (Saturday); Said the Whale, Dinosaur Bones, Rah Rah and Jenn Grant are the respective openers.
