Tom Harrell

Tom Harrell may be one of the greatest trumpeters alive, a distinction you'd expect from someone who's held his own in trumpet battles with Freddie Hubbard and the late Lee Morgan. He'll augment his fiery quintet here with strings and flute for a weeklong run pulling from his recent très cool record First Impressions, a collection which interprets Debussy and Ravel through lyrical, classical-inspired post-bop.
