Dumbo Arts Festival. Tom Verlaine is the greatest guitarist in New York, yet hardly ever appears on a New York stage. The musician’s light schedule is a source of frustration: Watching Verlaine perform—whether fronting his solo band or in Television, accompanying Patti Smith or in silent films—rarely proves less than revelatory. Tonight he appears with Television drummer Billy Ficca and the guitarist Patrick Derivaz.
