Tomsk Chamber Orchestra

For the Siberian ensemble’s New York debut, pianist Vladimir Pleshakov and trumpeter Alex Holton take the plunge together in Shostakovich’s Concerto in C minor for Piano, Trumpet, and String Orchestra, and violinist Philippe Quint tackles Tchaikovsky’s Waltz Scherzo and Melody. Sergey Khanukaev conducts. Stick around after the concert for the world premiere of David Grubin’s fictional musical film Downtown Express starring Quint as a Russian violinist named Sasha.
