Tyshawn Sorey + Jen Shyu

The Pi Recordings series at the Stone comes to an impressive end with an intriguing double bill of unaccompanied sets from two performers whose work has enlivened multiple Pi releases. Up first at 8pm is singer Jen Shyu, who fearlessly brings tight, jazz-informed reflexes to bear on themes of Asian-American diaspora. She's followed at 10pm by prodigious percussionist, pianist and trombonist Tyshawn Sorey, who plays music spanning his range and repertoire.
