Undead Music Festival

Formerly designated a jazz festival, Undead broadens its horizons this year, both in name and in scope. Wednesday night brings the fest's familiar West Village marathon, highlighted by a Le Poisson Rouge blowout featuring luminaries associated with the dearly departed LES experimental venue Tonic. Thursday's offering is a promising Medeski Martin & Wood mini residency, with one set of the group in its basic state and one with a wide array of guests. Fridays's proceedings, designated Night of the Living DIY, finds the fest fanning out to a number of cool Brooklyn show spaces (including I-Beam Music Studio and ShapeShifter Lab). And Saturday's finale features a series of round-robin style improv duets.
