Von, a resolutely raw San Francisco black-metal band formed in 1987, released only a single demo during its initial lifespan. But thanks to the shadowy machinations of the underground—not to mention namechecks from Norwegian acts such as Burzum and Darkthrone—the group has steadily accrued a cult following over the past quarter century. Expect the (un-) faithful to be out in force tonight, as founding member Jason "Venien" Ventura presides over what's being billed as a "RItual of the Black Mass."
