VV Brown + Jay Brown

VV Brown is a British retropop pinup in vintage duds, a cheery relative of Lily Allen/Kate Nash who pounds the drums with verve and not a smidgen of pretension. That she looks like a model hasn't escaped the fashion world's attention—the 5'11'' singer was quickly signed by an agency—but at her debut U.S. show last year, she never treated the Bowery stage like a catwalk. Expect fine (and fun) things at these two shows, as well as a glimpse of next year's album Lollipops & Politics.
