We Are Scientists emerged in the mid-'00s as perhaps the most radio-friendly of New York’s dance-rock acts. From the start, the band seemed willing to make fun of itself—and has been off the road, making a series of comedy shorts for MTV. Tonight, the musicians show off their new album, Barbara. Lightspeed Champion's Dev Hynes, highly touted in his native Britain, recalls indie mopes like Badly Drawn Boy. Tonight's show is an after-party for the Siren Festival—because lord knows that after watching rock bands in the heat all day long, what you need are more rock bands.
